Two women who work side by side in tedious unrewarding office jobs, Leigh and Melissa take over their floor of the office at night to rehearse their two lady production of Hamlet. Leigh is a struggling actor and theatre nerd who hasn’t been cast in a show since college and Melissa is a stand up comic who no longer even attempts to get stage time at a comedy club. They bond during mandatory office team building and decide to take advantage of office space and supplies to get their show business careers off the ground. On the path to production artistic differences, fear of discovery, and decisions about how to succeed in the “real world” threaten to derail the show.
Leigh and Melissa invite audiences to join them in the creative process of developing Leigh and Melissa Present: Hamlette! for the September residency production at 95 Empire by offering feedback during post-show talk back conversations.
