Brown University Theatre

Brown’s Theatre Department is unique among other university theatre programs in that the students select the repertoire to be produced each season. The student-run organization known as Sock & Buskin, along with faculty members, oversee Brown’s entire theatre season from the selection of plays to production. Students and faculty consider plays from the full spectrum of theatrical texts, classics-to-modern and beyond, experimental and traditional and in-between, in order to craft each year’s season of offerings. Brown strives to offer a broad selection of exciting theatrical works with a commitment to quality national, international, multi-cultural, and inter-cultural work.
