Providence Public Library leads every resident of Providence and Rhode Island to opportunities for lifelong learning and cultural enrichment. The Library is a 135-year-old nonprofit corporation providing free public library services through print, recorded, and digital collections, information resources, programs of interest and relevance, and expert staff.

    America's Music: FIlms & concerts offered through May & June Providence Public Library America's Music: FIlms & concerts offered through May & June Presented by Providence Public Library at Providence Public Library May 13-June 24, 2013 One of 50 selected sites nationwide, Providence Public Library will host “America’s Music,” a six-week program series featuring documentary film screenings and scholar-led discussions of 20th-century American popular music. There will also be four concerts in varied music genres.  “America’s Music: A Film History of Our Popular Music from Blues to Bluegrass to Broadway,” a series to enlighten audiences about uniquely American musical genres...

Join our Special Collections Librarian Jordan Goffin for an introductory tour of PPL's Special Collections. Tours will be offered weekly on Fridays at 3:00 pm. No need for an appointment. Simply come to the Special Collections department on the third floor.
