    The Rhode Island Chess Association in collaboration with the city of Providence and anonymous donor will present the First Annual Providence Invitational Free Unrated Chess Tournament in the Bank of America City Center (Skating Center) in Downtown Providence on Saturday, August 11! Registration begins at 8:30am and tournament play starts at 9:45am.

    There will be 6 divisions in total for the tournament: Elementary (K-5); Middle School (6-8); High School (9-12); and three open divisions for any aged players ranked under 1600, under 2000, and over 2000. Participants are welcome to move up and compete at any division they choose if they are confident of their skill level. All sections are unrated. All USCF rules apply.

    School teams with 3 or more participants will automatically receive a free chess set for their school!
