    Providence Children' Film Festival and Rhode Island School of Design are pleased to present Only Yesterday by Isao Takahata (1991, 119 min.). Alternating between the present and the past, twentysomething Taeko wonders if she has been true to the dreams of her childhood self. A double period piece that evokes both the 1960s and ‘80s, Only Yesterday is a quintessential Japanese nostalgic drama.

    Screened from a newly struck 35mm print in the original Japanese with English subtitles.

    Ticket holders for this film are also welcome to attend the Q & A with Toshio Suzuki that follows the earlier screening of Spirited Away. Q & A begins at 7:30pm, followed by a short break. Only Yesterday screens at 9:00pm.

    Please note: This is a free event with tickets available on first come-first serve basis. Please reserve only the total number of tickets you plan to use. Seating for reserved tickets is guaranteed until 15 minutes before screen time. We would like to be able to accommodate as many people as possible. Tickets will be available online until 12:00pm the day of the show. Additional tickets may be available at the door.
