    Blazing Saddles 2012: a honky-tonk of wild-west proportions The Manton Avenue Project’s 6th annual Gala June 4th, 2012 6pm-9pm Performance at 7pm Providence College Smith Center for the Arts Providence, RI 02908 Entrance off of Eaton Street gate. A new sheriff has come to the town of Manton River Junction! Here’s yer chance to hear her side of the story at this rip-roarin’ benefit party featuring live music, lasso lessons, a gold rush*, a saddle-bag grab, and a whole lotta fun. There will be BBQ and margaritas to boot! So shine those saddles and come on down, and don’t forget to wear yer best spurs. You’ll see MAP in action with a production of six original musical plays written by brilliant kid playwrights (aged 8-13) and local celebrity guest playwrights: musical personality DJ Cabeza, Olneyville Housing Corporation head Frank Shea, and Denise D’Abate, daughter of the namesake of MAP’s favorite elementary school. Directed by Brien Lang and Nicole Maynard. Music by David Tessier. Starrin’ Steve Kidd and Casey Seymour Kim from GAMM Theatre, Stephen Thorne from Trinity Rep, Clare Blackmer, Richard Donelly, Jed Hancock-Brainard, Leigh Hendrix, Pamela Lambert, Rebecca Noon, Ricardo Pitts-Wiley, Kelly Seigh, and several amazing MAP kid actors!
