    Project Ballet Coffee Hour “From Studio to Stage…” You’re invited to join The State Ballet of RI- Director Herci Marsden, for an inside view of how a ballet is created, the training of a dancer, what inspires a choreographer, with music, lecture and visual performance… cheese and crackers, coffee and dessert! A “Tour de Ballet” of Upcoming Spring Ballets - Coffee Hour With a discussion of collaboration, SBRI continues to give local artists opportunity. From an idea to an all out collaboration involving: Composers, musicians, choreographers, directors, dancers, costume designers, lighting designers, textile... The Collaboration with The State Ballet of RI and the Rhode Island Modern Music Project. Composer & pianist will be playing with an alto flute player to the live performance of "Irish Passage" from the newly created ballet “SAFARI” Additionally, questions can be answered concerning the process of composing these ballet; what was used for inspiration, how to create "touches" of cultural musical characteristics for each movement, and how to chose the instrumentation, an in some cases later on changed that instrumentation. Also, from SBRI's Artistic Director, Herci Marsden will share with guests a preview of different styles of ballet's from different countries, all from SBRI's repertoire Light refreshments included.
