Lynne Harlow Exhibit
April 13-May 25, 2012
Add Review/Comment
Lynne Harlow’s work crosses boundaries between printmaking, painting, installation and sculpture. Throughout her investigation of materials and mediums, the work remains intuitive and meditative. Harlow writes “How little is enough? How much can be taken away before the piece crumbles? My process of reduction is ultimately intended to be an act of generosity. In each piece I’m looking for the point at which reductions gives the most. It’s an appealing contradiction because it prompts one to reconsider the concept of abundance and the nature of giving.”
In addition to the exhibition at Cade Tompkins Projects (April 13 - May 25, 2012), Lynne Harlow will hold a one-day site-specific installation and sound performance piece on Saturday April 28th at 7pm at the “Old Stone Bank” in Providence, Rhode Island. In the past, Harlow has had site-specific works at The Chapin School, New York and has been included in the Minus Space exhibition at PS1 Museum of Modern Art, Long Island City, New York as well as at the Editions/Artists’ Book Fair ’11.
