Enjoy extraordinary live jazz in the Lippitt House Museum! Jazz composer/musician Francisco Pais' new eclectic quintet debuts at the Museum in the first concert of the 2011 Hunter Music Series. Pais, known for jazz experimentation and innovation, has assembled a wide ranging group of talented musicians who will perform in this fabulously opulent setting. Joining Pais for this one-time concert: Maeve Gilchrist, an amazing harpist and Berklee grad who grew up in Scotland; Ferenc Nemeth, an award-winning percussionist who was born in Hungary, played drums at the age of three and has performed with some of the world's great jazz legends, including Herbie Hancock; Margaret Glaspy, a frequent headliner at Boston's Club Passim, will add her smokey voice to the mix; and Mike Thomas, an accomplished clarinetist and soprano sax player, rounds out the sound. Enjoy fabulous hors d'oeuvres and drinks by donation. Space is limited for these intimate concerts. Early advance admission purchase is recommended.
